Hunter and Guest Terms

Bushkir is a marketplace. The hunt, stay or service is provided by the farm, host or partner you book, and your contract for that experience is with them. Bushkir provides the platform, the verification checks, the booking record and payment facilitation, and holds you and the host to the policies published here.

You must be 18 or older to hold an account. The information you give us — your name, contact details, firearm and licence details, and anything about the people in your group — must be true and kept up to date. You are responsible for everything done under your login, so keep your password private.

A booking is only confirmed once the farm or host accepts it and the required deposit is received. Prices shown are in South African rand and include the Bushkir booking fee where one applies. The complete price breakdown is shown before you pay, and the trophy or animal invoice is normally issued by the farm itself.

Extras arranged on the farm — additional animals taken, extra nights, drinks, damage or partner services — are settled directly with the farm or partner and are not part of the Bushkir booking total.

You are responsible for hunting lawfully: valid firearm licences and competency, provincial permits where these are required, CITES and TOPS permits for protected species, import and export documentation, and compliance with every instruction given by the landowner or professional hunter.

Bushkir does not supply permits or licences and does not verify each hunter's paperwork. Illegal hunting, hunting without the required permits, or breaching the farm's rules ends your hunt immediately with no refund, and may be reported to the authorities.

Firearm safety rules, alcohol rules, fair-chase and ethical hunting standards, and the host's house rules must be followed by you and everyone in your group. Dangerous, intoxicated, abusive or unethical behaviour may end the booking on the spot without a refund, and may result in your Bushkir account being closed.

Changes are only valid once the host confirms them in writing through Bushkir. Cancellations are handled under the Cancellation and Refund Policy. If the host cancels before you arrive, you receive a full refund of everything paid through Bushkir, and we look for replacement dates or places for you.

Hunting and travelling in the bush carry real risk of injury or death. You accept those risks for yourself and your group, and you are strongly advised to carry your own medical, travel and firearm insurance. See the Safety, Liability and Indemnity Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Reviews must be honest, first-hand and about a booking you actually took. Photographs and text you upload remain yours, but you give Bushkir permission to display and use them to promote the platform and the listing. We may remove content that is false, offensive, illegal or promotes unethical hunting.

Where you found a farm, host or partner through Bushkir, bookings for the following twelve months should be made through the platform or through the host's Bushkir direct link. Arranging off-platform to avoid booking fees is a breach of these terms and may result in the account being closed and the fee being invoiced.

Bushkir is not liable for the conduct or failures of a farm, host or partner, for injury, illness, loss or damage during a hunt or stay, or for indirect losses such as lost travel costs or lost time. Where Bushkir is found liable despite this, our total liability is limited to the Bushkir fees we earned on the booking concerned. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Problems should be raised through Complaints and Disputes first. These terms are governed by South African law, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction.
