Payments, Fees and Payouts

Exactly how money moves through Bushkir, what we charge and when farms and hosts are paid.

This document is written to protect both you and Bushkir, and applies as published. It should still be reviewed by a qualified South African attorney before it is relied on in a dispute.

1. How Guests Pay

Payments are processed by our payment provider in South African rand. Bushkir does not store your card details. A deposit secures the dates; the balance is paid by the date shown on the booking. The full price breakdown, including any Bushkir booking fee, is shown before you pay.

2. GroupPay

A group may split a booking into shares, each person paying their own part. The booking is only confirmed once the required total is received by the due date. Refunds are returned to each person in the amount they personally paid.

3. Membership Fees

Farms and hosts pay a monthly membership: Starter R499, Professional R999, Premium R1 999, and Bush Stay R499. Partners pay the membership shown on their plan. Memberships renew monthly and are not refundable for part of a month. Failed payments pause the account and hide the listings until payment is up to date.

4. Accommodation Commission

Bushkir charges commission on the accommodation portion of a booking only. The rate depends on the farm's membership and how the booking was made. Bushkir never charges commission on animals hunted, trophy, harvest, meat or animal invoices.

  • Starter (R499) — 10% of accommodation on Bushkir bookings, 5% on the farm's own direct-link bookings
  • Professional (R999) — 8% of accommodation on Bushkir bookings, 4.5% on direct-link bookings
  • Premium (R1 999) — 6% of accommodation on Bushkir bookings, 4% on direct-link bookings
  • Bush Stays (R499) — 10% of accommodation on Bushkir bookings, 5% on direct-link bookings

Animal and trophy invoices are normally issued by the farm directly to the hunter and fall outside the Bushkir booking total unless the farm asks Bushkir to invoice them. Bushkir charges no commission on them either way.

5. Payouts to Farms and Hosts

Bushkir deducts its accommodation commission and any payment-processing fee and pays the balance into the host's verified bank account, normally after the guest has arrived. Payout accounts must be in the name of the listed business or owner. Bushkir may hold a payout while a dispute, chargeback, rescue case or verification check is open.

6. Refunds

Refunds follow the Cancellation and Refund Policy. Where a farm, Bush Stay or BushDrop cancels before the guest arrives, the guest is refunded in full and Bushkir recovers any amount already paid out from the host's next payout or by invoice.

7. Chargebacks and Fraud

Fraudulent payments, stolen cards and unjustified chargebacks are investigated and may be reported. Where a chargeback is raised on a booking already paid out, the amount is recovered from the host. Accounts used for fraud are closed.

8. Services Paid Directly

Meat processing, taxidermy, transport and other partner work are normally paid directly between the customer and the partner. Bushkir does not hold that money and is not responsible for collecting it.

9. Tax and Invoices

Farms, hosts and partners are responsible for their own VAT and tax. Bushkir issues invoices for its own membership and booking fees. Keep your billing details current so invoices are correct.
